Introduction

YouTube has had a huge effect on Asian Americans represented in the media. The opportunity for people of all ethnicities to be seen around the world has changed drastically in the last few years. People are able to put their own opinions on the web without it costing a lot of money, unlike in other previous media outlets. The diversity of the people in the Movies are much greater than before because people of all races have an equal opportunity to post. This project is aimed at exploring many of these issues while also linking to the content that it talks about. There are many aspects of YouTube and new media that this project (an interactive paper) will address. One of the issues that I want to address is when YouTube (or Google) should intervene and limit content based on it being deemed racist or inappropriate. I want to show the content that can be found there today as well as responses to that content in either blog form or response videos. I also want to look into the rise of YouTube like sites from around the world. Another issue that I want to address is the comparison between YouTube and mainstream media. The last main topic that should be addressed in this project is other countries reactions to online videos.
