Outside Support Services

Academic Tutoring, Speech-Language and Occupational Therapy

Academic Tutoring is available as an outside service at McLean. The Learning Specialists in both the Lower/Middle and Upper School serve as referral sources and coordinators for these services, but parents actually contract privately with the tutors. There are 4-6 tutors who tutor at McLean full time - many of whom are former teachers so they know the curriculum and teachers. The school offers space for academic tutors and Speech and Language Pathologists in modular units adjacent to the school. In addition, many of the teachers at the school tutor, either before or after school; a list is published of those teachers and is shared with parents both in and outside the school.

 

Additionally we have an Occupational Therapy practice in the building which has two O.T.'s who do evaluations and provide therapy for McLean students as well as outside clients.

McLean School offers outside support services during the school day and during non-school hours. McLean School Learning Specialists and the Speech-Language Pathologist of the school consult with parents, outside providers, and teachers for these services. McLean School professionals provide referrals and coordinate these services with the parents and outside providers. Parents contract privately with the Outside Providers who render services.

Several Outside Providers work at McLean throughout the week - many of which are former teachers, and knowledgeable about the programs and curriculum of the school. The school offers space for both Academic Tutors and Speech and Language Pathologists in modular units adjacent to the school. In addition, current McLean faculty offer tutoring either before or after school. A list of these professionals is available from the Learning Specialists and the Speech-Language Pathologist. Additionally, two Occupational Therapists work with students in the building. These professionals conduct evaluations and therapy sessions for McLean students as well as outside clients.
